Even though many days are very long and trying, there are many reasons to smile around here!!

Like the way my sweet baby boy loves to smile, cuddle, and be around people all the time!

And the way any chance we get to go outside brings happy babies...and a happy Mama!

And the way my sweet baby girl loves to read and discover new things!

And best of all, time spent together as our family of four!!

Growing Like Weeds

Yesterday was the one year check-up for my little munchkins. I love going so that I can see how much they have grown and changed and then talk about what to look forward to in the next few months! I do, however, dread the blood work and shots...with a passion! I think I really hate it more than they do! Neither one of them even cried as they got their blood taken (meanwhile, I was looking the other way!) and they recovered quickly from their shot screams! All is well and that's over for another 3 months! 

Levi and Lila Kate are doing great and are very healthy! They have gone from teeny tiny little preemies last year to chunky monkeys this year!! We have a lot to be thankful for! They both weighed the same at 23 pounds and 10 ounces (that puts Levi at the 60% in and Lila at the 85%), Levi was 29 1/2 inches tall (40%) and Lila was 29 inches tall (50%). I am SO proud of them at how great they are eating, growing, learning, and changing!!

We Like to Party, Party!



Well, we survived the first birthday around here and it was a blast! The kids loved every minute of it - from getting attention, to opening presents, to eating cake (well maybe just Levi on this one!). I had so much fun getting everything decorated for the big day! We wanted to have a really small party this year and let the attention be on the two main events and it turned out perfect! Lila Kate got to wear pig tails for the first time and walk around like she owned the place! :) Levi chowed down on his cake like he had never eaten before (I do feed them on a regular schedule) and army crawled around to follow his new camaro! I did feel pretty emotional as we sang "Happy Birthday" to each of them! It's just hard for me to believe that a year has already flown by! It was definitely a day I will always remember!!

Graduating

During those late night, long hour feedings, when the days and nights ran together, I dreamed of the day my little sweeties could feed themselves. Now the time has arrived and it's bittersweet! Every new milestone means another step to growing up and independance. I am so proud of Levi & Lila Kate, but I just want the days to slow down!

New Year!

I would have to say that 2011 was the BEST year of my life! Chris and I got to welcome the two most anticipated bundles of joy into our lives! Actually, I was sad to see this year go because so many wonderful "firsts" and memories have been made and I couldn't have been happier! I know that 2012 will bring many new and exciting things, but I never want to forget even the tiniest details that forever changed our lives! I can only hope that 2012 will be as full of happiness as 2011!

11 months

Happy 11 months to my sweet little twinsies :) The time is passing so quickly! I truly cannot believe that in just a few weeks they will reach the 1 year milestone! I am already missing all the little baby things, but am enjoying all the new and exciting things they are doing and getting into these days! Christmas is going to be a blast this year! I cannot wait!
